The 71^st Annual Meeting …

F the Winchester Tennis Association was held on April 28, 1999 at 7:00p.m.

The topics of discussion included the following:

Presentation to the WTA by Christopher Sprague and Archie McIntyre representing the Friends of Paddle Tennis. The prospective site for paddle tennis courts is Mullin field ( Lockeland Rd - across from the fire station). The Board of Selectman has expressed support for the effort. Next steps include raising $10,000 - $15,000 for architect drawings and presentation materials.
WTA dues will remain the same; a form to send in with dues monies is attached!
Approval of the tournament schedule for the 1999 season. The schedule is published in the box in the right hand corner Note the dates now!

Discussion of the formation of a planning committee that would review capital expenditure requests and make recommendations. Interested? Call one of the Officers!
Kerry Bergin presented the Treasurer's Report.
Discussion of continuing the policy of opening the Fall Tournament to high-school age participants. It was approved.
Leo noted that the John Cronin benches have been "gifted" to the town.
